The sump pump has been pumping less periodically during the entire week due to the ground still moist from several weeks ago area wide deluge. Outdoor activities have been OK with a mix bag of dry time and wet weather for walking outside on trails due to areas still experiencing no standing water in areas and local creeks and streams water levels are still receding along with some winter like cooler air in the environment most of the week with temperatures cooler than average by early-week, but no shoveling of snow had taken place due to little snow accumulation earlier in the week (Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday with Sunday evening with the area experiencing 0.3 inches of dime size snow pellets) this week and 0 inches of snow depth currently on the ground. The area experienced well above average temperatures towards the end of the week with temperatures falling well below average by the weekend. Furnace has been taking a break some days this week and working below this week to heat the house due to the warmer than average temperatures, but some days the furnace was working above average due to temperatures falling well below average (as much as 25 degrees Fahrenheit below average). The ground still very muddy and squishy with all the rain that had fallen several weeks prior and the drainage area in the backyard is still full of standing water. Signs of spring emerging with Tulip leaves, Crocus and daffodils still growing this week along with the grass is green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over the past couple of weeks. The front yard needed to be hand mowed twice this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are showing signs of budding and some leaf growth. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of April is currently above average and total snowfall is currently below average.
