It can be difficult to determine dryness during spring green up, but I am running an April rainfall deficit of 1.21", which is only 42% of normal. The majority of the rain fell on April 5th, with the rest of the days all 0.05" or under. It has been 12 days since measurable rainfall.  

While the grass was growing quickly a few weeks ago, it has slowed down considerably.
