With 3.65" since April 1, conditions are remarkably wet here. Ponds are full; Rowley Creek's baseflow is substantial and soils are universally damp, if not wet. Birds are in full migration; frogs are calling; spring ephemeral wildflowers are in bloom, including Dutchmen's breeches, bloodroot, pasqueflower and early buttercup.
Farmers have not really begun field work as it has been too damp for most of the last two weeks.
Fire danger is very low as soils are damp and cool-season grasses are green and growing rapidly.
