Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-DH-48
Station Name: Durham 4.5 N
Report Date: 4/13/2026
Submitted: 4/13/2026 11:40 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
We have received no precipitation in the past week. During the past month and a half, we have received less than 2 inches of rain. We should have received around 5 inches during this period. We are dry and the ground is cracked. The higher temperatures are drying out the soil. We need rain and little to none is expected in the next 8 days. We are in drought conditions.

My "Bellweather" indicator for ground water availability, my Forsythia Bush leaves, are indicating some ground water deficit. The leaves are not fully up and the color in the leaves is not a healthy green but a paler green. The other vegetation appears to be okay but the lawn looks dry and the blades of grass are thin.

The birds are flocking to our bird baths. There has been one or two Hummingbirds approaching our feeders but we have not seen any alight.
