Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: WI-DA-144
Station Name: Sun Prairie 2.2 W
Report Date: 4/13/2026
Submitted: 4/12/2026 7:28 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Wet
Description:
It has been a very active spring overall, especially for April. I have only had ONE daily observation with zero precip so far this month! Soil moisture is definitely above normal, as I encountered quite soggy conditions when I installed the wooden pole for my new TROPO gauge this week. Wildlife growth isn't in full swing just yet, but grass is coming to life and it is immediately lush. Some fields have standing water and area creeks and rivers are running above normal. There is a decent push of rain today as I'm writing this report, which will keep the wet conditions continuing. A very active week is ahead, it will be interesting to see the rain totals. The data explorer shows we are around 200% of normal precip amounts this far into the month of April, and once I report today's rainfall w/ the next daily ob, combined with the expected heavy storms this week, we probably will exceed the monthly average rainfall for April climo this week. Moderately wet conditions are likely to continue, with a chance to reach severely wet conditions/flooding, depending on how this week pans out.
