Storm total this week 1.22", bringing Water Year to 41.07", 103% of normal. ETo 0.23", average high 63f, low 48.5f. Ruth Lake Reservoir at 101% on April 6th. Drought map shows all of California north of a line from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe as Abnormally Dry, level D0, as well as parts of Riverside, San Diego and Imperial counties. Level D1--Moderate Drought now includes northern Del Norte and the east sides of Alpine to Modoc counties. The rain has brought up the rivers, Mad River at 8 feet and 800 cfs, Eel River at Scotia 11.25 feet and 2400 cfs. Rivers and ocean remain cold. Lupine showing up along roadsides and highways, and wisteria blooming in people's yards. This coming weekend is the annual Godwit Days birding festival in Arcata, which should bring many visitors in to explore all the birds northwest California has to offer.
