Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-WK-165
Station Name: Raleigh 4.4 SW
Report Date: 4/11/2026
Submitted: 4/11/2026 8:41 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
State in a drought, some parts pretty bad. In our area, yes it's definitely dry. Watering yard these days. Pollen mostly done - hallelujah! Azaleas and irises look great, as well as columbines. Most flowering trees have leafed out and flowers gone. Not leafed out: Black gum, white oak, beech. Falls Lake levels low (the big reservoir). Our little Lake Johnson reservoir (does have a USGS gauge!) is a little more but not noticeably. Turkey season, gobbling. Snakes and herps are active though sluggish in these cold mornings. Love listening to the owls call and response in late afternoon.
