Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-CH-68
Station Name: Fearrington 1.4 SW
Report Date: 4/6/2026
Submitted: 4/06/2026 9:36 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
While signs of spring predominate in the flowers and leaves appearing every day, signs of water stress are becoming more and more into focus. Despite Sunday's rain of 0.11 inches, the pond level continues it's decline. While there are traces of water in the stream, there is not any water flowing downstream. The pond has a little more to go to becoming dry but it is on the way. We have seen fresh raccoon prints in the stream bed. Deciduous trees are continuing to leaf out. The dry condition of the woods has led to several days of no burning and warnings of fire dangers.
