Received about an inch of precipitation in the last week. Rain was slow and steady and soil moisture near the surface is good. Soil still dry deep, ponds are still low and surace soil has dried rapidly, so over dryness is still there. Plants are slowly greening and grass is just starting to respond to moisture but still not very active. I saw a few fields planted but most have not been worked. Consistent rains will be needed to improve to normal conditions.
