Description:
This week's storm brought 1.82" of rain, 37% of April's normal.  However, Water Year sits at 95%.  Average high was 61.9f, low 45.1f.  ETo 0.27".  March precipitation total was lowest in 41 years at this location, 1.00", 14.3% of normal for the month.  Drought map now shows all the coastal counties from Monterey to Del Norte, along with Napa, Lake and Trinity at level D0--Abnormally Dry.  Ruth Lake Reservoir on 4/3 remains at 101%.  The rivers jumped up quickly with this week's storm, but returned to lower levels just as quickly.   CDF&W opened the recreational halibut season April 1st, along with rockfish.  However, April 1st marked the closing of all rivers to fishing, except the Eel River mainstem below the South Fork junction, and the Smith River.  However, the Smith will close April 30th.  Small spot fires are happening already, while proscribed burns continue in the area.
