The all important April 1st snow pack numbers are grim...roughly 14% of normal for the Tahoe-Truckee basin. This is one of the lowest ever for April 1st. Oddly enough, precipitation is almost exactly 100% of normal since October. But the combination of high snow levels and the warmest winter on record have left the mountains bare of snow. Here at my house the winter (Nov 2025-Mar 2026) was the warmest on record by 6 degrees going back 35 years. Reno reported its warmest March ever going back 135 years. Even with the very warm and dry March, the hills around town are remarkably green. Trees blossomed and leafed out 3-4 weeks ahead of normal.
