Precipitation has only totaled 0.13 inches for the first 3 months of 2026. 2025 ended 10 1/2 inches below normal, compounding the effects of this drought. I have reduced my cattle herd size by 65% during the past 12 months. We only have 12 rolls of hay remaining. If significant rains do not return during April I will be forced to sell my remaining cattle. No soil moisture is available for spring pasture growth.
