Above normal temperatures this past month. Wet and snowy month.
(01 MAR to 30 MAR) 

Precipitation for the period was 3.66”. +1.13” for the period. 
Cal yr 6.16, -0.75” below annual seasonal normal. 

Snow: 11.3”  +3.0” for the period. 
Snow Season: 48.7”. -1.3” above for the season
Snow Depth Average: 0.8”. 

Frost Depth under sod: 0.0”
Frost Depth under bare ground: 0.0”

Temperatures averaged 37.9 degrees, +2.0 above normal for the period.  

Soil temperatures, for the period, at 2” have averaged 36.5 degrees, 4” average is 37.9 degrees, 8” average is 38.8 degrees and 20” average is 39.2 degrees. +6.0 overall increase, on average, from the previous period. 

Spring has returned to the station this month with warmer weather, soils thawed and plants greening up quite a bit. 
Many birds returning to the feeder as the spring migratory birds have returned. Squirrels and bunny rabbits are out and the chipmunks have returned as well.

First Robbins arrived in the past few weeks and migratory geese are returning. Trees are budding and tulips, daffodils and crocus’ are up and will flower soon.
