Farmers were out late in the week doing field work such as applying anhydrous, disking, etc.  The dust was flying behind the machines making one think the soil may be dry.  So it was a surprise when pulling  steel posts away from snow fence this past week, the soil was extra wet sticking to the posts.  I am presuming that means the top soil is moist enough but what has occurred over winter for the subsoil moisture?  Care is needed if anyone decides they must burn a ditch or other fire due to the dry grasses as it's been very windy this past week.
