Our first measurable rainfall event since March 11, 2026 finally occurred in the past 24 hours resulting in 0.07" inches of rainfall. While the rainfall was welcome, it was very light and it did not improve our soil moisture any this week. It is my hope with our upcoming active weather pattern starting next week that we will have more significant rainfall to help get rid of this drought. Next, our Kieffer Pear Tree has completely leaved out this week, however our fig trees appear to have not made it through the winter. Also one of our Dunstan Chestnut trees appears to have not made it either, but we still have one Dunstan Chestnut that appears as though it's trying to leaf out. Lastly, area wildlife has been active with multiple sightings of various species of birds, there were also sightings of various flying insects including wasps, bees, and bumblebees.
