Conditions continue to dry out. Despite receiving only 49% of the average rainfall to date with higher than average temperatures, the drought index remains unchanged for the 10th week in a row. We have also been under an outdoor burn ban since before Christmas. The USGS reports the Llano River at Hwy 87 is flowing at 61 cfs vs the 54-year median of 168 cfs. The 25th percentile is 110 cfs and the record low for this date is 53 cfs. There is wide-spread vegetation growth and spring is in full bloom, both figuratively and literally. Wild flowers and tree blooms are visible everywhere. Birds are returning to the area and bugs are starting to make their appearance.
