Description:
We have received 0.21 in. of rain this week and soil conditions are good. I flipped the soil of my canna beds over last weekend and the soil was drying out nicely from last week's snow and bit of rain. The temperature rollercoaster hasn't been fun though. The high went from 92°F to 52°F two days later then back to 93°F a few days later only to drop back to the lower 50's the following day. A friend calls it "weather whiplash" and she is right! Last weekend it felt like Summer and everyone was out doing yardwork, mowing, and barbequing, or a combination thereof. My thermostat is probably confused flipping it back and forth so much from heat to cool. My tulips started blooming this week and the forsythia bush is pushing out a few more blooms. The snow and freeze last week did a lot of damage to the daffodils, peach tree, and other flowering bushes and trees. They would have been gorgeous this year. I have also noticed wild plum trees started flowering this week. Surprisingly the birds are hitting the seed feeders again this week.
