Cities nd townships in Colorado re starting to look at importing watering restrictions. There has been almost no precipitation in eastern Colorado this winter, temps have been historically high, windstorms continue frequently with severe drying and downing powerlines, fires keep popping up, and the snowpack in Colorado is t historic lows ranging from 46-65% of normal. Ski resorts took a big hit this winter due to lack of snow, and with recent snow, its melting off quickly due to historic high temps in what seems to be a long streak of way above normal temps for this time of year. Plants that normally would not be leafing out or blooming for mother 2-3 weeks are growing, leafing put, and blooming, requiring that watering begin more in Ernest. If things don’t turn round soon, I fear a horrific fire season and severe watering restrictions, losses of landscape plants (even xeriscape plants need SOME water).
