The amount of precipitation measured was less than the last update of 1.25 inches of precipitation for the previous week of (3/8/26-3/14/26). There was 2.83 inches of precipitation that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of March compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 1.68 inches of precipitation. There was 4.6 inches of snowfall measured for the week of 3/15/26-3/21/26. There was 5.9 inches of snowfall that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 so far for the month of March compared to the normal climatology snowfall at KROC airport for the month is 14.2 inches. Conditions have improved since the last update from last week with the area seeing some beneficial and measurable precipitation in the form of liquid and frozen precipitation over this past week. The area is currently considered abnormally dry and conditions had improved since the last update due to the area receiving beneficial precipitation in the form of rain and snow. The sump pump has been pumping periodically during the entire week due to the ground becoming unfrozen with a mix bag of days feeling like early spring and like winter during the week due to mix of mild air and cold air invading the environment for most of days this week to allow for above freezing temperatures some days this week to allow for melting of the snowpack to infiltrate into the ground and the mild air in the environment arriving Monday, but temperatures cooling off towards the end of the week for Friday and Saturday(no snowpack currently on the ground, but any accumulated snow from Monday afternoon or any small accumulation during the week had melted) to melt and infiltrate into the ground. Outdoor activities have been good for walking outside with some sprig like mild air in the environment earlier in the week with temperatures falling below average by mid-week and no shoveling of snow had taken place due to very little snow accumulation this week (Monday afternoon accumulating before melting occurred and 0 inches of snow depth currently on the ground by Friday and Saturday) The area experienced a mix bag of well above and below average temperatures. Furnace has been working less to heat the house due to the very warm mild air on some days and and other days this week with very cold below average temperatures the area has been experiencing in the week had made the furnace work above average to heat the house. The yard needed to be cleaned up more from strong gusty winds on Monday had caused down tree branches in the backyard and the ground still very muddy with all the snowpack melting and rain falling this week and the drainage area in the backyard is full of standing water. First signs of spring emerging with Tulip leaves starting to grow above the ground earlier in the week. So far, the total precipitation for the month of March is currently above average and total snowfall is currently below average.
