We went from super cold to super hot this week temperature-wise. On the 16th the high/low were 25.8°F/11.1°F and two days later the high was 70.3°F. On the 20th the high was 80.4°F and will be even higher later today. We also had snow on Sunday night into Monday evening, but only 0.7 in. and it wasn't even a complete layer. The weather swing this week was too much. Early in the week lots of plants and trees were blooming (peach, forsythia, daffodil, and golden current had buds just about to open). They all got zapped with the freeze and snow. Daffodils seem to be bouncing back, but everything else and the greenery of lots of other plants coming up are wilted now. Birds were at the feeders when the days were cold, but not so much now. I did take advantage of the nice weather last weekend to cut down old stems from last year's growth in the wildflower patch and move it to the side of the planting. Spring will be back in full swing now that the snow and cold temperatures are gone.
