The soil is dry and dusty and plant growth has slowed, but plants and gardens are healthy for now. There has not been any precipitation for a month. Our water supply is adequate with a steady flow in the Rio Grande River. Snowpack in the Sandia Mountains is almost gone. Fire weather conditions have become critical in the very early warmth, windiness, and dryness. Many fruit trees are in bloom, putting them in danger of damage from a late freeze. For now the trees are healthy.
