Week of (3/8/26-3/14/26) observed more precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 1.25 inches of precipitation. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of 0.69 inches of precipitation for the previous week of (3/1/26-3/7/26). There was 1.94 inches of precipitation that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of March compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 1.13 inches of precipitation. There was 1.1 inches of snowfall measured for the week of 3/8/26-3/14/26. There was 1.3 inches of snowfall that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 so far for the month of March compared to the normal climatology snowfall at KROC airport for the month is 10.4 inches. Conditions have remained the same since the last update from last week with the area seeing some beneficial and measurable precipitation in the form of liquid and frozen precipitation over this past week. The area is currently considered moderately dry (Moderate Drought) which has remained the same (unchanged) since the last update due despite the area receiving beneficial precipitation in the form of rain and snow. The sump pump has been pumping periodically during the week due to the ground becoming unfrozen with days feeling like early spring earlier in the week due to mild air invading the environment for most of days this week to allow for above freezing temperatures this week to allow for melting of the snowpack to infiltrate into the ground and the mild air in the environment arriving Monday, but temperatures cooling off towards the end of the week for Friday and Saturday(no snowpack currently on the ground, but any accumulated snow from Friday afternoon or Saturday had melted) to melt and infiltrate into the ground. Outdoor activities have been good for walking outside with some sprig like mild air in the environment late week and no shoveling of snow had taken place due to very little snow accumulation this week (Friday afternoon accumulating before melting occurred and Friday night into Saturday morning with around a half of an inch of snow depth currently on the ground Saturday Morning) a nice warmup for Monday-Thursday with temperatures reaching into the upper 60s and low 70s and setting a daily high temperature record on Tuesday. Furnace has been working less to heat the house due to the very warm mild air and most days this week with above average temperatures the area has been experiencing in the week, but was given a nice break Saturday afternoon with temperatures warming into the upper 60s and low 70s. The warmup on Tuesday-Thursday this week allowed for the yard to be cleaned up more from winter by cleaning up down branches despite the ground still very muddy with all the snowpack melting and rain falling this week. So far, the total precipitation for the month of March is currently above average and total snowfall is currently below average.
