We had actual rain this week -- 0.60" -- which moves the needle a bit, but with nothing expected (except a cold spell) no progress is in sight. We are still nine inches shy of normal rain since October. Fire danger is high as higher winds have been the normal this week. On the other hand, most trees are now leafed out (not pecan yet)and grass is demanding weekly attention, while gardens are preparing for tomatoes.
