Over the past week the snowpack as melted down to only what remains in protected areas and shoveled piles (which are numerous). Last Saturdy it was 14.0", this morning just a Trace from a dusting of snow overnight. Rivers and streams are running at a fairly normal level. Many small branches that had fallen are now uncovered due to the snow melting away. It was a windy winter. Small animals are active and, although I have not yet heard of reports of the bears waking up I am now bringing in the bird feeders at night. Frost/wind "burn" evident on many evergreens. Birds are very active.
