Well our NWS predicted roller coaster weather and they did not disappoint. Over the week, temps ranged from the upper 60's to near freezing. Severe thunderstorms midweek accompanied by rain and hail was followed up with a bit o' snow. And those strong gusty winds yesterday will likely be ushering in measurable snow toward Sunday night as Old Man Winter returns. Total precip for the week was 0.37" including 0.2" of snow. Area waterways are still up from the previous week's rain and look to be in pretty good shape. The ground is wet with minor ponding in the usual places. So it seems near normal soil conditions will continue. Area trees are revealing early signs of spring here as small buds are just now starting to appear. Grass is greening and daffodils are poking from the ground while some native weeds are also coming around. Geese are arriving and have been honking for space. It seems kind of early but not out of place. I watched two pair honking, one pair right, one pair wrong; over who gets what but can't they just get along. I'll see myself out now.
