Only 0.38” of rain this week, but conditions remain near normal for mid March. The Pascoag Reservoir has begun to rise and is about 3’ from reaching summer levels. With the extreme warmth this week, the entire snowpack has melted. We had about 10”-12” of snowpack last Sunday and it was completely gone by Thursday. Only a few of the largest piles from snowplows are left. With the open ground, squirrels and birds have been very active in the yard. Bluebirds, robins, sparrows, woodpeckers, etc have been very noisy! There is still a lot of ice on the lake, so no fishing yet, but with the rising water and warmer temperatures, they should be out there soon. George Washington state park continues to post Low for fire danger.
