Today was the first thunderstorm of the year, and even though it was less than half an inch of rain, the first really appreciable rain we have had in months really.  It has been terribly dry with fire warnings all over the place.  most the fruit trees that were not watered, are not doing well at all, whereas usually they would be nice and fat by now.
Normally i would cut down the winter kill off in the yard and burn it all to be rid of it, but with fire warnings i can't and it's a lot this year too as more stuff died off with the extreme cold we had combined with the extreme drought we had.  lowest temp this year was 17 degrees which is the coldest i've seen since moving here in 2008
