Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-DH-48
Station Name: Durham 4.5 N
Report Date: 3/9/2026
Submitted: 3/09/2026 12:58 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
For the past week, we have received only 0.08 inches of rain. This is the only rain we have received so far this month (other than traces). Even though the ground is wet enough to make a very shallow footprint in the low wet spot, the amount of rain on a per diem basis is very minimal.

Despite the lack of rain, spring is here and our Forsythia bush has leafed out along with its characteristic yellow lowers. The Azalea is still blooming and more flowers have appeared this week. Various trees are starting to leaf out while others are still dormant.

Our winter species are still here. One site says that the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are 100 miles away along the coastal plain all the way up to new Jersey, there are no reports of them here in this area. We have not seen any.
