The soil is dry and dusty and plant growth has slowed.  There has not been any precipitation for a few weeks.  Our water supply is adequate with a steady flow in the Rio Grande River.  Snowpack in the Sandia Mountains is almost gone.  Fire danger has been increasing but is not yet critical.  Due to the early very warm spring weather many fruit trees are in bloom, putting them in danger of damage from a late freeze.
