A total of 1.08" of rain fell over the week with most all of it falling yesterday. Luckily, the frost is out of the ground so most of the rain was able to soak into the soil. The surface is wet right now and deeper soil should have benefited from yesterday's rain. So maybe near normal soil conditions have arrived. Waterways improved from their lower levels and the nearby pond did come up a bit but is still too low. Trees are just beginning to wake up from winter and area lawns definitely look greener after our rain. But it is still March so roller coaster weather is more than likely and Old Man Winter may have a surprise or two for us before departing. Wildlife hasn't changed much from last week. Been seeing a few birds and some deer tracks in my yard. And heard the first thunder for the year yesterday. It's been so long that I forgot what it sounded like. Ok, not really.
