Despite the lack of precipitation in the last few days, moisture for this time of year appears adequate for typical plants and animals in the area. Morning chorus of birds heard at gauge observation time now includes robins, cardinals, crows and others. Ditches, small ponds, swampy areas and creeks have begun to have some surface algae on some water, rocks, and bottom surfaces. Very conspicuous Callery pear tree blooming flowers are appearing on the roadsides and landscapes.
