I have an interesting observation regarding the pH and Total Dissolved Solids measurements dating back to early January 2026.
It is an analysis of a snow pack core taken on March 4th 2026.
The composite pH of the core was quite high at 6.17 which is higher than you would see with pure rain or snow and indicated the deposition of considerable alkaline dust into the snow pack.
Total Dissolved Solids were also high at 15 ppm adjusted for the pH affects or 24 ppm as measured.
The high Dissolved Solids points to the alkaline deposition idea.
This taken together is very good news in terms of not contributing acid from the rains to the soil and in fact shows the overall deposition to be slightly alkaline.
