Exceptionally dry this month.  I recorded only a .10 of an inch of precipitation for the month of February compared to the 30 year average of 1.84".  Exposed soils are quite dry and there has been a day or two where red flag warnings have been issued due to elevated fire danger. On the other hand, the benefit has been natural area managers have been able to get a few controlled burns completed a little earlier than normal.  I am hoping for a good rain this coming week as the forecast calls for.
