Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: TX-HNT-11
Station Name: Royse City 3.5 ENE
Report Date: 3/2/2026
Submitted: 3/02/2026 4:19 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Only a Trace of rain observed last week at this station. Temperatures were warm with five of seven days with highs in the 80s, nighttime lows generally in the 50s but a few nights were cooler and a few nights warmer. D1 Drought Status and Burn Ban still in effect. Most days have been sunny with some very windy days - feels like Spring. This past weekend I started flower bed cleanup - almost all of my native perennial plants are coming up already - very happy about this. Bluebonnet rosettes are showing up in the front yard. Birds still active at the feeders and bath - had a visit from an Eastern Bluebird. Saw many ladybugs in my flower bed while cleaning up - such great helpers to the ecosystem. The ground soil has definitely dried out again and the dead vegetation is very dry and crunchy - the rain expected this week will be welcome. February ended with rain total was 1.56” and all but 0.02” of that came in one day so overall very dry month. February temperatures were pretty mild for the most part - lots of 60s, 70s and 80s for highs and lots of 40s and 50s overnights. The story for last week was typical to above typical conditions.
