Despite a blizzard that dumped up to 24" of snow last Sunday-Monday, we've had about half the normal precip. The blizzzrd paralyzed Mystic (and the area) - schools and businesses closed Monday and often Tuesday, streets were minimally plowed for days, trucks and bucket loaders finally cleared downtown parking spots. As a result, on Saturday, the first nice day all week, Mystic was jumping just like a summer Saturday!
Snow drifts covered most shrubs and there's very liitle bare ground, so birds and animals had trouble foraging.
Temps moderated mid-week, and we all hope the predicted rain will melt all the snow. Everyone's ready for spring!
