February precip was well above normal, but much was rain in second half of month.  Snowfall of 11.9" was only 60% of monthly normal and end of month snowpack depth was slightly below normal despite seasonal snowfall being above normal.  Deer are absent in my local area.  Foxes very active, must be breeding season.  No nomadic finches etc. just chickadees, nuthatches, blue jays, woodpeckers.  Logging truck traffic high, spring road closures looming.  Road is a mess on thaw days.  Lots of interior construction traffic.  Conditions have been less than ideal for ice fishing.
