Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CAN-NS-256
Station Name: Clementsport 0.6 SE
Report Date: 2/28/2026
Submitted: 2/28/2026 12:07 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
I'm sticking with Mildly Dry though it's hard to tell. There is still a deep snowpack though it has been shrinking over the past few sunny days. The major snow we got this week on 23 Feb has already shrunk, becoming crusty at night. But for February we are only at about half (41mm) of normal precipitation. The snow that came this week drifted a lot, so it will be hard to get a representative measurement of snowpack for CoCoRaHS on Monday. Some steep south facing slopes in the area are bare. I have seen a few deer tracks coming out of the woods into the field, but fewer than earlier in the winter. Bald eagles have been noisy and evident this past week as well as other large hawks; chickadees and crows around as usual. More fox tracks out and about near their den. Snowmobiles loaded on pickup trucks just after the major snow this week. The municipality is running guided winter walks/snowshoe outings at local trails at this time of year.
