Over the week we received a grand total of a trace of precip. The ground has pretty much thawed and is slowly drying out so mildly dry conditions seem to have arrived. Area waterways are dropping and mostly ice free. Trees are still a drab gray but signs of spring have sprung. I noticed numerous maple trees have started dripping sap on my driveway so warmer days are on tap. Our NWS is predicting warmer and wetter days later next week. Time will tell. Wildlife is coming out of it's winter slumber as roadkill is up and migratory birds are arriving. Our two resident geese returned to our front yard already and I was relieved to see that they made it through the winter. They started honking at me so I reminded them to stay away from the busy road. Something tells me that they are going to do whatever they want.
