Conditions have remained the same since the last update from last week with the area seeing some beneficial and measurable precipitation in the form of liquid and frozen precipitation over this past week. The area is currently considered moderately dry (Moderate Drought) which has remained the same (unchanged) since the last update due despite the area receiving beneficial rain and snow precipitation. The sump pump has been pumping periodically starting Thursday due to the ground becoming unfrozen and melting of snowpack occurring due to mild air invading the environment late this week to allow for above freezing temperatures this week to allow for melting of the snowpack to infiltrate into the ground and the mild air in the environment late week is allowing the frozen precipitation sitting on the ground last week and several weeks prior (near an inch of snowpack currently on the ground) to melt and infiltrate into the ground. Outdoor activities have been good for walking outside with some mild air in the environment late week and no shoveling of snow had taken place due to very little snow accumulation this week accumulating before melting. Furnace has been working less to heat the house due to the mild air and above average temperatures the area has been experiencing late week compared to last week. So far, February’s precipitation is currently below average and snowfall currently is below average.
