Station Number: NC-CW-59
Station Name: Edenton 7.4 ESE
Report Date: 2/16/2026
Submitted: 2/16/2026 2:29 PM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
for the week, .52" of rain was received late yesterday and last night. This brings the February total to approximately 1" (the .23" of liquid precipitation that fell as snow started on January 31 and continued through the early morning hours of February 1). This is 2.4" below the February normal with 12 days remaining. Not much has changed since the last report. All of the snow from early February finally melted over the weekend. Water is standing in the yard and in the fields. Winter weeds are starting to grow in earnest. Overwintering crops took a hard hit from the mid-teen low temperatures early in the period, but are starting to recover. Garlic is putting on new leaves. Fire activity had picked up prior to yesterday's rain. Maple trees are starting to bud, which is the normal time.
