Another week with no precipitation. Only 0.01" of precipitation in February, and no significant rain since January 9th. The ground has had no snow cover all of February and soil is not frozen. Temperatures have been above Normal and forecast to be record highs this week. Fire watch has been issued and a burn ban in a neighboring town. Birdbath use is high but not too many birds feeding from the trays. Fall seeds are uncovered for wildlife. Northern goldfinches have not migrated south this year. Soil is dry motivating me to water perennials and shrubs. Creeks and ponds are very low. We are close to moderately dry.
