For the week ending 14 Feb 2026: We closed out the week within 2 mm of the longterm weekly mean precipitation SWE for February.  As with the previous week, we experienced misty, cloudy conditions, and calm to light winds. The temperatures cooled some, with a couple of days well below zero. Our elevation remains free of snow. We noticed some of our garlic sprouting above the mulch line, and we've set aside additional mulch, as we're concerned that too hard a frost might affect the plants.   Wildlife: Our elk herd and deer remain active. Wild turkeys, Canada Geese, ravens, crows, flickers, chickadees, and finches are active.  Although somewhat reduced, the rodent infestation in our rabbitry—remains a huge problem. PHOTOS: Taken today. The first image is captured near my  CoCoRaHS CAN-BC-100 gauge set-up, facing 125º SE.
