Conditions are nearly the same as last week with only a little drying. There was a small amount of rain this week and the drought index is unchanged. The ground is hard and plants are still dormant although we normally see some budding by this time of year. The Llano River continues to be very low but this is becoming it's normal state over the last several years. The USGS reports that at Hwy 87 it's flowing at 70 cfs. The record low for this date is 60 cfs. The 25th percentile is 115 cfs and the median is 168 cfs. Areas normally covered with water have been dry for so long vegetation is growing in areas. Mason County continues to be under a burn ban effective December 22, 2025.
