With 5.6” of snow and 0.55” SWE, conditions remain near normal for mid February. The extreme cold weather over the last few weeks has completely frozen over the Pascoag Reservoir and the ice is now thick enough for ice fishing and skating. Several hockey rinks have been shoveled off and pickup hockey has been happening every day after school. With warmer temperatures over the last few days, the snow pack has compressed but a lot of snow remains. Winter birds like spa, finches, blue jays, chickadees and wood peckers have been active and the Bald Eagles continue to make appearances.
