Feb. 2 - 8 , 2026: no precip, cool mornings (upper 20's to low 30's) and daily highs in the 40's for the past week; sunshine to overcast; dry, dry, dry. No snow on the foothills except a very small line of snow at about the 7,000 ft. elevation line. Birds and other wildlife are hungry. Boise River is at minimum flow while the three Boise River dams upstream of Boise are holding back water. Some trees, mainly maples, are showing fattened leaf buds and the slightest hint of green. Robins are back in the area hungry and flocking around the winterberry trees, gorging on last year's fruit. Bird song in the mornings has increased recently, louder and more varied than previous months. Pollen is covering the cars and surfaces. Pollen allergies are getting much worse. Forecasts are for rain to begin later today (8th) and continue into tomorrow, possibly off and on during the next week. Low temp. for this morning was 44°F---definitely changing weather.
