Weekly precipitation was 0.31 inches. Weekly low temperatures:16,24,36,28,25,35,33. Highs:30,42,44,39,39,67,52. Ice melt and refreezing overnight was the theme this past week. With 2.5 inches of liquid water equivalent released from the ice plus an additional 3 tenths of rain on Tuesday it has been a wet week. After two weeks of ice on the ground, we are down to just patches of ice in shady areas as of this Sunday morning, February 8, 2026. Friday and Saturday saw the most rapid ice melt with our field bottoms and drainageways filling up each of those afternoons with unusually clear water. Most of the water has drained away now and the ground is very soft and sticky. Calendar year to date and water year to date are both showing around 80% of normal precipitation. Therefore, I will keep the scale bar on 'Mildly Dry'.
