Conditions have improved slightly after the winter storm brought some ice and snow. The drought monitor shows an incredibly 0.01% with no drought condition and the rest of the county (99.99%) as D0. The DSCI remains unchanged at 100. Unfortunately, the Llano River continues its trend of low to near-record low flow rate. The USGS reports the river at Hwy 87 is flowing at 72 cfs. The record low is 63 cfs, the 25th percentile is 107 cfs and the median is 166 cfs. Despite the recent precipitation, the ground remains hard and dry and vegetation remains dormant. The county remains under a burn ban effective December 22nd.
