Last month's total was 1.02 inches with one missing value estimated to be around 0.05 inches. Our last month's rainfall was less than a third of average. So far this month, we received 0.23 inches of precipitation in the form of very dry snow with a SWE of 16.5:1. We are dry.
The trees and plants are not showing any signs of our dryness. Everything is dormant. We need rain to replenish our ground water.
With 3.8 inches of snow, the ground feeder birds are having a hard time to find seed and other feeds. Our feeders are getting lot more visits. We are seeing more of our winter time birds such as Yellow Rumped Warblers, Pine Siskins and Warblers. We have not seen a Ruby Crowned Kinglet as we have in previous years. The feeders and bird baths are very busy.
