Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MT-RV-18
Station Name: Hamilton 9.2 SSW
Report Date: 2/1/2026
Submitted: 2/01/2026 8:56 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
with 23 days without any measurable precipitation, I would call it severely dry if it wasn't for the very wet December. But water year precip is still above normal. Streams are flowing at near normal levels. Dirt roads are incredibly dusty, dustier than they are in the summer. Weather has alternated between cold, dry, and sunny and warm, dry, and cloudy, so the ground has been going back and forth between frozen and unfrozen. No snow at mid elevations, close to normal SWE at high elevations, but the snow has taken a beating from the wind, sun, and warm temps and makes for poor skiing if you can even get up there at all. Saw a snowshoe hare down low on the bare ground last week--it really stood out against the brown backdrop.
