Station Number: TN-MC-16
Station Name: Lafayette 4.5 SE
Report Date: 2/1/2026
Submitted: 2/01/2026 7:59 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
We received .92 inch of rain, 1.5 inches of ice layer on flat surfaces, 5/8 inches of ice on timber and 1.5 inches of measurable snow from winter storm that began Saturday of last week. 10 hours of the 168 hour week have been above freezing with 14 hours of filtered sunlight. No drying weather, little melting. Timber has suffered much with hundreds or even thousands of broken limbs and some trees pulled over from the roots.
Cattle good but not leaving hay except to drink. We have many birds at our feeders. See deer tracks but no deer, turkey or squirrel this week. We were without electricity from last Sunday morning until yesterday afternoon and several in our area still are without power. Been a hard winter week and still ongoing but we know it has been/is for a lot of people across the nation. We're mindful of others, counting our blessings and thankful for what we have.
